It is with great pride that we have begun the installation of the new Dell computers in our district. The first schools scheduled are (in order) Link, Woodglen, Bardonia, and Lakewood. Richard Hernandez is serving as project manager, and will coordinate with the project manager from CCC, the vendor who won the bid to acquire and install the computers. The collaboration between the Department of Instructional Technologyand the vendor is an important one, and technicians from the are assisting in deploying our computer image, one which they carefully built over the summer.
As we move forward, each elementary school will have a computer lab with 25 new computers and at least 15 netbooks (with full wireless access) for the fourth grade. Projection units and pull-down screens have already been installed in the second grade classrooms which previously had none.
I will use this blog and email to internal stakeholders to share out information as this project moves forward. This will certainly be an exciting two weeks!
