I was recently asked how a vintage Department of Defense film could be shared in class. There are many possible ways to do this, but I suggested using a class blog to stream the video. The film, Duck and Cover (featuring Bert the Turtle) is available online and a quick search provided a location from which the teacher could stream it. Doing so provides the teacher with the opportunity to show the video in class, and provides the students with the opportunity to view it, as well as other such films, outside of the classroom. By exploring similar films independently, students can get a broader feel for the climate during that period of time.
